A field of small quiet things
The day is made mostly of things too small to notice. So I've been trying to notice them.
A cup going cold. The particular grey of an afternoon before rain. The sound of a room settling when everyone has left it. None of these are events. They won't make it into any story I tell later. And yet they're where most of a life actually happens.
Attention is the rarest and purest form of generosity.
I don't have a conclusion. I only wanted to write down that I'm practicing this — looking longer at ordinary things, letting them be enough. This room feels like the right place to keep that practice.
